Roles & responsibilities

  • Support the development of vehicle controls software architecture for various vehicle systems including:
    • Vehicle controller
    • Motor controller
    • Battery management system
    • DC-DC Converter
    • On-board charger
  • Liaise between partners during development to ensure controls and systems are properly integrated
  • Support development and tuning of controls throughout vehicle development
  • Perform model based software validation and HiL rig test and validation
  • Support functional safety work, producing documentation to facilitate ISO 26262 compliance
  • Identify shortfalls in software development for compliance with ISO 26262

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Highly skilled with Matlab software package inc:
    • Matlab
    • Simulink
    • Simscape
    • Compiler and code generation tools
  • Experience developing automotive EV controls software for embedded application
  • Experience working on HV systems
  • Experience of working to ISO 26262
  • Experience of CANbus systems and associated software tools (CANalyzer, CANoe, PCAN)

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience in the motorcycle industry
  • Able to perform model-based software validation


  • Systems/Controls Engineering BEng or Equivalent
