Roles & responsibilities
- Drive development of power electronics including:
- Motor inverter/controller
- DC-DC Converter
- Vehicle controller hardware
- On-board charging
- Liaise with other partners/departments to ensure proper integration of electronics hardware within the vehicle physical and systems package
- Perform FMEA on Electronics hardware
- Ensure electronics hardware is compliant with ISO 26262/Functional safety requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
- Highly skilled at developing automotive HV EV power electronics hardware
- Experience developing hardware to ISO 26262
- Experience using software and CAD tools to develop electronics, PCB and wiring with consideration for thermal management, packaging and EMC requirements
- Understanding of HV battery systems
- Experience of designing electronics for mass production to cost & quality requirements
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Strong working knowledge of HV battery systems, cell types and battery design
- Experience with Matlab software package inc:
- Matlab
- Simulink
- Simscape
- Compiler and code generation tools
- Experience in the motorcycle industry
- Experience performing hands on test and validation of power electronics, including HiL testing
