Roles & responsibilities

As part of the new Creative team at BSA, you will be at the cutting edge of ICE and EV motorcycle design and development, we are seeking a Senior CAS Design Manager.

Working within the Design team, the Senior CAS Design Manager is responsible for creating and managing 3D CAD data for multiple design projects in varying stages of development, from rough-cut concepts to complete production A-surfacing support.

The main responsibilities of a Senior CAS Designer include:

  • Work with the design team to create, develop, and present motorcycle concepts that stay true to the brand’s vision.
  • Transform sketches into 3D design surfaces that maintain the styling intent, while meeting engineering hardpoints and constraints.
  • Prepare CAS models for regular design and surface reviews.
  • Review designs and work closely with the engineering team to ensure manufacturing feasibility.
  • Study market competition and suggest ways to remain forefront by proposing continuous improvements and innovative concepts.
  • Work collaboratively, negotiate, and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery of the design intent.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor of Arts degree in Design (Transport/Automotive Design preferred)
  • An impressive portfolio of work
  • Experience within the automotive industry at a Senior CAS level
  • Motorcycle design experience is preferred
  • Ability to lead a CAS team on multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong Autodesk Alias skills
  • Proven ability to create high quality 3D CAD models from 2D sketches.
  • Good knowledge of production manufacturing
  • Knowledge of rapid prototyping techniques and workflows
  • Mechanical engineering knowledge is an advantage
