BSA Motorcycles is at an exciting point in its history with the brand having just been relaunched to the world, releasing the first new model, the Gold Star, and we are just getting started. We are looking to build the BSA team to manage the business into the future in key areas.

Roles & responsibilities

As part of the new Creative team at BSA, you will be at the cutting edge of ICE and EV motorcycle design and development, we are seeking a Senior Design Manager.

Working within the Design team, the Senior Design Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing multiple design projects in varying stages of development, from initial concepts to the complete production cycle.

The main responsibilities of a Senior Design Manager include:

  • To understand the strong brand ethos of BSA motorcycles and translating it into motorcycle design language.
  • Receive and understand design briefings.
  • Capability to present high-quality design and styling solutions to the SLT & above.
  • Responsible for leading a design team, working closely with engineering to ensure timely delivery of world-class design solutions.
  • Deliver the agreed styling and engineering objectives on time, while considering the brand ethos and customer needs.
  • Work on multiple projects requiring innovative solutions, with the implementation of the latest technology.
  • Study market competition and suggest ways to remain at the forefront by proposing continuous improvements and new innovative concepts.
  • Work collaboratively, negotiate, and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery of the design intent.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor of Arts degree in Design (Transport/Automotive Design preferred).
  • An impressive portfolio of work.
  • Experience within the 2-wheel industry at a Design Manager level.
  • Experience leading project teams from the creative side.
  • Motorcycle design experience is essential.
  • Excellent visual, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead a design team on multiple projects concurrently.
  • Highly skilled in Adobe Photoshop or other image editing software.
  • Strong 2D sketching and rendering skills.
  • Experience of Autodesk Alias would be a strong advantage.

  • Ability to be dynamic with a can-do attitude.
  • Passionate about the product, the role and the potential.
  • A team player able to work with different characters, personalities, and levels of seniority on a day-to-day basis.
